Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work
Learn the fundmentals of First Aid for your workplace and prepare yourself to deal with workplace emergencies. A minimum of 6 contact hours ran over 1 day with certification valid for 3 years.

1 day course (minimum 6 learning hours).
This course will enable the student to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
• Be able to assess an incident.
• Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
• Provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with shock.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries (e.g. small cuts, minor burns/scalds, etc).

Level 3 First Aid at Work
Become a fully trained first aider in your workplace, learn the fundamentals and more. A minimum of 18 contact hours ran over 3 days with certification valid for 3 years.

This course will enable the student to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
• Be able to assess an incident.
• Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
• Provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with shock.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries (e.g. small cuts, minor burns/scalds, etc).
• Be able to conduct a secondary survey.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected bone, muscle and joint injuries.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries.
• Provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury.
• Provide first aid to a casualty who has suffered sudden poisoning.

If you already hold a certificate that is due for renewal, this can be done over just two days.
We also offer a blended option for this course with a 6 hour online module followed by just 2 classroom days, thereby reducing the cost.

Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Learning vital information to possibly save the lives of infants and children over a minimum of 12 contact hours ran over 2 days.

2 day course for those working with infants (0-1) and children aged up to 18 years of age.
This course will enable the student to:
• Understand the role and responsibility of a paediatric first aider.
• Be able to assess an emergency situation.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child who is unresponsive.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child who is choking.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child with external bleeding.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from suspected shock.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from bites, stings and minor injuries.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child with suspected bone, muscle and joint injuries.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child with suspected head and spinal injuries.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child with an acute medical condition or sudden illness.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child with a condition affecting eyes, ears and nose.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child experiencing extremes of body temperature.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child who has sustained an electric shock.
• Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from burns or scalds.
• Provide first aid to a child with suspected poisoning.
• Provide first aid to a child suffering from anaphylaxis.

Mental Health in the Workplace - Level 2 (VTQ)
Mental health affects how an individual thinks, feels and acts which disturbs their emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. This qualification will help staff support someone who is suffering from mental health in their workplace.

1 day course for staff in the workplace setting.

This course will enable the student to:

Understand the difference between mental health and ill health.

Describe the components of mental wellbeing and how this relates to resilience.

Understand how risk factors associated with mental ill health can lead to problems in the workplace.

Be able to recognise how mental health problems can affect day to day living.

Understand how social and cultural attitudes can lead to mental illness.

Understanding causes of stress and knowing how stress can stem from influences resulting from work.

Be able to understand the difference between an anxiety and a panic attack.

Be able to understand the Management Standards Approach.

Understanding problems in the workplace as a result of unidentified mental health.
-
Be able to implement an action plan to promote a healthy workplace.

Mental Health in the Workplace - Level 3 (VTQ)
Mental health is becoming a common condition for an individual's psychological and emotional wellbeing. This qualification has been designed to meet the Equality Act (2010) and the Mental Health Act (1983) [Places of Safety] Regulations.
